Ahmed M Abul Ella Ali

Ahmed M Abul Ella Ali

Ahmed was born in Giza just outside Cairo and he is 41 years old. He lives with his family in the suburbs of Giza, his wife and 3 children, Basil is 13, Eyad is 9 and the new member baby girl Judy just 3 months old.

Ahmed was born and raised in the city but his roots are still in Upper Egypt where he still keeps a strong connection with his village and his bigger family.

Ahmed was educated in Cairo University, with a degree in Arts and humanities in 1990. He then continued to further his education with postgraduate studies in Ancient Near East history and literature.

Ahmed has studied many languages over a long period of time which enabled him to research in many languages and speak some others, such as English, French, German, Spanish and Hebrew.

Between 1986 and 1989, Ahmed was the manager of Cairo's Jewish Heritage Program, when he was in charge of opening the old and abandoned Synagogues in Cairo, many of which were closed for more than 50 years. He then restored all the books that were left behind by Jewish families (mainly found in a side building that was normally used as a Saturday school), the project was a ground breaking effort to gather and catalogue more than 35,0000 books which were found in all Egypt's Synagogues. Ahmed proudly executed this program all by himself, while attending his classes at the university of Cairo.

The great experience Ahmed gained from this work as a librarian and restore the old Jewish books has helped him immensely to have exclusive access to some great and very important material, which has gifted him with great knowledge about the Jewish community in Egypt. He then continued learning more about Ancient Egypt and Bible history, soon publishing his first book Prophets & Pharaohs, Egypt and the old Testament. Ahmed now is considered by many people in Egypt and abroad an Egyptian scholar in this field and he often lectures on the topic in Cairo and abroad.

Ahmed has received many awards in the last 15 years, working as a part time Egyptologist/Guide for travel groups and high End study tours to Egypt (the Smithsonian Museum/the Metropolitan Museum/national Geographic expeditions/natural history museum in NY/Boston fine arts Museum /Stanford University/Harvard university).

He is a frequent guest speaker/lecturer to lots of cultural centers and clubs in Egypt and abroad (the Egyptian cultural center in Cairo - a lead speaker and lecturer to Egypt's guides training center - Hancock Museum in Newcastle, UK / Rosicrucian museum in San Jose, CA / St, Sebastian private school outside Boston, Mas).

Ahmed recently published new articles for the Egypt's tourist market and they were translated in 4 different languages: National parks of Egypt, Sacred Animals of Ancient Egypt, Concise History of Egypt.

Ahmed now is the owner of a small company called Henu Egypt, part of Henu Productions Inc. for Egyptology publications, media production and travel consultancy.

Ahmed is going to author several new books about Egypt that will be published in the international market through Henu Books and Henu Egypt.

The coming titles are:

The Messianic Code – with Salah Tawfik

An A to Z of Egyptian Gods & Goddesses – with Simon Cox
